Page is a computer scientist from the University of Stanford in Palo Alto and an American business magnate who together with Sergey Brin founded Google. Page became the CEO Google on April 4th, 2011 after succeeding the chief executive who was Eric Schmidt (Flammang, 2012). Together with Brin, they own more than 16% of stock in Google. An estimation of his wealth is said to be about $32.4 billion. In addition, he in a great investor in automobile owning the Tesla motors and other companies dealing with renewable technology. He has received numerous awards and recognition due to his leadership strategies and techniques. Having such a wealth, he is ranked at position nineteen in the Billionaire list by Forbes. Lastly, page is a married to Southworth and a father of two. He is a renowned businessman and a leader by character (Page, 2012).
Larry page is a hard working leader, by providing the best environment for his employees and Google. His unique leadership styles make him standout as the best leader who achieves the company’s goals and objectives leaving his employees satisfied and happy. Larry is very innovative, he works tirelessly to ensure Google changes for the better. He is recognized as a democratic leader, and this makes him a great leader (Page, 2012). He believes in his employees and appreciate the work done by them. In his leadership, he acknowledges proactive decision making channels. For instance, to make the decision process very active and fast, he requests to offer a 60 word pitches or updates on the current projects being worked on to ensure that he gets involved, and the employees feel part of a bigger decision making team (Lowe,2012).
In addition, Larry page is considered an introvert. He includes and listens to other people’s creative and knowledgeable ideas and puts them into action. In the management, introverts are recognized and attributed as the greatest leaders who are capable of promoting proactive employees. His style has led to constant communication and idea sharing between the workers eventually working to the greatness of google as a company. Larry has achieved a lot of creative ideas from the employees and friends developing his knowledge bank and improving google performance in total (Page, 2012). From this, many people and employees have committed to serving google for countless years due to the belief they owe Larry Page. Lastly, Larry page disregards the autocratic way of leadership. He achieves this by ensuring this by building on his team to acquire more ideas and insights the promote Google growth. He contends to be part of the employee hiring team to ensure that brilliant graduate in various fields get into google and help it become (Lowe, 2012).
Larry Page owns attractive personal and organizational values, which has made Google the best service provider. Ass the google CEO, Larry, has indicated automated consumer concentration, one task at a time, quick task response, web equality, research and networking as the organizational values. From a personal perceptive, Larry is very supportive and knowledgeable in working out his strategic plans (Page, 2012). He gives support to the employee families by providing on-site health care, travel insurance, free meals and family allowances to employees. His personal values have promoted his relationship with the employees motivating them to work hard to achieve the company goals.
Similarly, Larry is very philanthropic, educative and appreciates networking. The values have made google move a step in achieving its success. Furthermore, the organization values associated by Larry includes open mindedness and global acceptance of ideas and contribution. The organization values have encouraged and empowered the employees by giving them a chance to develop their career. Variously, Larry ensures commitment and constant communication from the top to bottom and vice versa. His approach have helped employee inclusivity and integration in policy management and Organization value improvement. The values owned by Larry page have played a significant role in making Google the best today (Page, 2012).
Larry values have a prodigious opportunity to influence ethical behavior within the organization. The values can help improve understanding between the employees influencing correlation that would change personal and group decision making platform. Variously, the combination of employee stable decision making platform with the 60 word pitches ensures that no decision is made in the organization without the employee consent (Lowe, 2012). Larry being authentic leader with positive leadership styles, and values can change employee behaviors and attitudes. In so doing, he creates hope, optimism and trust building on creative leaders who are morally upright. He is described as visionary as he realized the dream of owning a search engine. In addition, he is described as an honest leader who can never lie and thus making him the critical force behind the organization. More so, Larry offers the ambition necessary in motivating the employees in the organization. According to the employees, his passion and zeal for progress and innovation are unlimited. He has robust and dedicated attitude in all his tasks for company development. His strongholds have made him remain the ultimate command behind organization decisions.
Though Larry Page is a powerful and an excellent leader, the brain work behind Google engine, he owes some weakness that he needs to overcome. Larry is seen as less focused leader. For instance, when the former CEO Eric Schmidt called for an agent meeting, Larry Page and his partner Brin would be observed concentrating on other issues apart from the meeting agenda. The former CEO had to keep redirecting the meeting agenda once again. In addition, he never acts like other CEO’s; he has lowered interest regarding his organization processes. Larry is seen as less or no disciplined leader. He performs tasks according to his own thoughts and never keeps time as far as meetings are concerned. He has less capability to abide by schedules and to be punctual as other CEO’s. Page is also seen as shy and an introvert leader as far as the media is concerned. Lastly, is criticized due to his aloofness that makes him rebellion making him acceptable to any idea that is given to him by any person.
Larry page is recognized as a principled leader. He mainly follows his personal ideology of “Don’t be evil." From his own slogan, it evident that Larry can never support unscrupulous behaviors that may lead harm. He also has a supportive nature, he and his employees have scanned almost all books to ensure that they support development of all the people. In addition, Larry is seen as a moral leader as he publishes only the information that is ethical to the people. He displays information which is right and which everyone can view without any challenge.
Good collaboration and communication control organization dynamics by promoting relationship between the employees. In an organizational set up collaboration helps in having a smooth flow of ideas and information among the shareholders. In addition, collaboration ensures that both the employees and the management have a shared goal of achieving the organization mission and vision (White, 2007). Variously, communication ensures that the organization has a shared decision making platform. Continuous communication from the top to bottom and vice versa influences the organizational development as each and every employee ideas or issues will be put into consideration. Lastly, collaboration and communication may ensure transparency and accountability within the organization (Brandt, 2011). In Google, Larry has worked tirelessly to ensure collaboration between himself, his employees and shareholders that have led to google engine success. Similarly, Larry has ensured a top down, and a bottom up communication that have ensures sharing decision and ideas from the management and employees have a smooth flow. Larry offered a forum for all individuals with crazy ideas to forward to him and the management as he considered them the most useful ideas for business growth (White, 2007).
Furthermore, politics and power has the significant influence of the success of a given organization. Power in the organization controls management of policies, hiring and recruitment. This ensures control of funds, and approval of plans to be used in the organization development. Lastly, politics ensures market stability and sourcing of funds for the organization development. It also determines the revenue paid by any organization to the national government. As for google, politics has enabled easy sourcing of the established funds to its building foundation in the current engine market (Brandt, 2011).
