In writing a persuasive research paper, the main aim of the writer is to influence others to agree and go by the writer's arguments, information and principles. It calls for logic to convince the reader that the writer's idea is more legitimate than any other.

The writer should choose an angle from which they are going to write from, and think of the solutions they are going to give .The argument has to be reasonable and convincing to the reader, therefore the writer has to use statistics and facts; which must get the reader to accept the writer's point of view.

The research paper must contain  an introduction, the body and the conclusion. The introduction gives a brief background of the research content, and it should act as a hook to grab the reader into reading the rest of the content. The body contains the main points of the argument, which are well explained and clear. The conclusion rounds off the information provided in the main body of the article.

A thesis, which is also known as the focus statement is always included in the introduction. It is the main statement to which the whole research content is hinged. It helps to tell the reader the specific topic of the research process, and helps give the limits of the topic such that the writer doesn't stray from it. It should magnify the stand of the writer, to show that they know of what they are writing about.

Before setting to write the persuasive research paper, the writer must have a clear analysis of the target audience. It should be clear to the writer how the  audience will react in relation to the argument, that is whether they will agree with the writer, whether they will remain neutral or they will disagree. This helps to give the writer a view point as to how to best stage their evidence and argument.

Research must be done on the subject matter before writing, one must not rely on personal expertise. Research gives a writer additional information on the topic. A persuasive research paper must contain convincing evidence which calls for more than personal knowledge. One has to look for information from libraries, from the Internet or from interviewing experts in that particular topic. It is advisable for one to read thoroughly about the topic in question.

In the persuasive research, a writer should anticipate any incidences of opposing argument, and in-turn counter it by providing information to turn readers towards the writer's view point. A writer should find the gaps in the reader's logic about the argument and use them as pillars to build a concrete argument in favor of his stand.

A writer should use numerous means to get the reader to his side for instance, one might use facts and figures, having made sure that they are from reliable sources. Direct quotes from professionals always stand in favor of the writer therefore they should be used, illustrations also help to verify the ideas of the writer and give the reader a clear picture of the argument.

Before concluding, the writer has to read through the whole content to make sure it reads smoothly, that points are well supported and the content has no grammatical mistakes.
